The Opportunity 💭

Te Hiko Centre for Community Innovation is a “koha towards sparking local community economic systems that truly value what makes people’s lives better.” They support community wealth-building initiatives that grow local relationships and resources. We were connected with Te Hiko as they needed a new site to act as a hub for their projects; enabling all those that they serve to access their learnings and resources.

What We Did 🪄

We worked closely with the Te Hiko team to develop a platform that balanced functionality with simplicity. One of the primary challenges was the large number of projects Te Hiko had under their belt. We needed to figure out how to show visitors the exact ones they needed without overwhelming them. To solve this, we built out a dynamic, automatic, and instant search function for their project library that is user-friendly and intuitive to navigate. This allowed users to quickly find relevant resources and initiatives without having to scroll through everything manually.

What We’re Proudest Of 💛

We are particularly proud of the dynamic project library we created, which allows the Te Hiko team to easily upload new resources and edit old ones, ensuring their content remains fresh and up-to-date. This feature helps Te Hiko maintain their growing repository of projects with minimal effort, while providing an excellent user experience. Additionally, we’re proud of the seamless ability to switch to the Te Reo Māori version of the site, aligning with Te Hiko’s commitment to supporting local culture and ensuring accessibility for all users.
